It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from Biden’s Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg. Perhaps he’s been on more vacations? Buttigieg helped drag down the administration by being MIA on several critical occasions, such as a train derailment in East Palestine, several airline shutdowns, and the possible rail workers’ strike.
Now, he might be coming out and speaking to the press in an attempt to prop up Biden’s campaign. He was on CBS to discuss Biden’s “green” plan.
Biden has shut down oil production to force Americans to buy expensive, less reliable electric cars. But that plan has failed; even the CBS host admitted that. When Buttigieg tried to spin it, she shut him down with two words.

CBS host Margaret Brennan pressed Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg on former President Donald Trump’s stance on the amount of electric vehicles (EVs) purchased, noting Sunday that Trump’s take wasn’t “wrong.” …“… Donald Trump repeatedly talks about President Biden’s decision to force the industry towards making 56% of car batteries electric by 2032, 13% hybrid,” Brennan stated before playing a clip of the former president. “He’s not wrong on the purchasing.”
“Oh, he’s wrong,” Buttigieg responded.
“He’s not. Of the 4 million vehicles purchased, 269,000 electric vehicles were sold in the U.S. market. It’s up like 2%,” Brennan stated.
Ouch. Margaret Brennan called out Pete Buttigieg when he tried to accuse Trump of being wrong about EV sales. Brennan said Trump was not wrong, pointing to statistics that prove EV buying is down. Despite all of Biden’s efforts to force electric cars onto Americans, he is failing.
Biden appeared to push “green” tech as a way to pander to progressive environmentalists as well EV carmakers—who happen to be big Democrat donors. He did this by shutting down drilling for oil in the U.S., driving up the cost of gasoline.
But he did this at the same time carmakers could not produce new cars, thanks to a Chinese chip shortage. The price of used cars reached the price of new cars, with the price of new cars skyrocketing. This also coincided with Biden’s inflation, which made everything much more expensive.
Americans were not buying new cars, especially not extremely expensive EVs. Add to that the fact that there is no infrastructure for EVs in most parts of the U.S. and that they have a very limited range. Carmakers that bet on Biden’s plan lost billions, including Ford Motors.
It was a perfect storm of incompetence on the part of the Biden administration. Buttigieg did little to help, besides spinning Joe’s terrible plan. For a mainstream media host to openly defy a Biden crony, you know it’s getting very bad for Biden.
