Democrat Case Against Trump Hits a Huge Snag – Liberal DA Gets Blindsided by Top Lawmaker

What’s Happening:

This week, Democrats out of Georgia indicted Donald Trump and others. This is the fourth time Democrats have indicted Trump, just in the last few months. Many Americans are convinced these indictments are merely to derail his primary race.

The latest indictment comes from a Democrat DA named Fani Willis. Willis was outed for launching a fundraising website just days before the indictment. Some critics claim she is pushing this unprecedented attack just to boost her profile within the party. And now, Georgia Republicans have decided to hold her accountable.

From The Post Millennial:

On Thursday, Georgia state Senator Colton Moore sent a letter to Governor Brian Kemp marking the first step towards impeaching Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who indicted 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump on 13 counts on Monday…

“As a Georgia State Senator, I am officially calling for an emergency session to review the actions of Fani Willis,” he said. “America is under attack. I’m not going to sit back and watch as radical left prosecutors weaponize their elected offices to politically target their opponents.”

Well, I guess there are a few Republicans left in Georgia with a backbone! State Sen. Colton Moore sent a letter to the governor, demanding a special session to confront DA Fani Willis. Moore accused the Democrat of weaponizing her office to “politically target” Trump and his allies.

According to state law, an emergency legislative special session can be called by the governor or 3/5th of both chambers. Moore is demanding a session to review and respond to Willis’s shocking indictment of a former president.

Honestly, we have to wonder why this didn’t happen sooner. It appears, based on his own comments, that the Republican governor is in favor of this indictment. Gov. Kemp and Donald Trump are hardly friends.

But how can a governor sit by and let a Democrat DA indict a president–knowing that this could very well be politically motivated?

It’s unclear if the governor will agree to this special session. It might depend on Georgia lawmakers to band together to hold Willis accountable. They might be able to confront her agenda and even remove her from office.

If so, this entire case might fall apart.

Key Takeaways:

  • A Georgia state senator called on the governor to hold a special session against DA Willis.
  • State Sen. Moore accused the Democrat of weaponizing her office to target Donald Trump.
  • Willis has indicted Trump and others, accusing him of trying to overturn the 2020 Election.
