Democrats have a huge problem. With Israel going to war with Hamas, far-left liberals are siding against America’s ally. Joe Biden is losing support among progressives who accuse him of helping Israel commit “genocide.” Democrats have been scrambling to win back progressives, including turning their backs on the state of Israel.
But that doesn’t seem good enough. The far left is going to war with its own party, protesting Democrats and demanding harder attacks against Israel.
This has even spilled into antisemitism rising on college campuses. Who is going to save the day? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, that’s who! Not really. The progressive congresswoman is struggling to hold onto her “progressive member’s card” as more and more leftists turn on Jewish Americans. But while she condemned antisemitism, she did drop this whopper of a claim.
From The Post Millennial:
On Monday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) claimed that “false accusations of antisemitism are wielded against people of color.”The progressive Squad member, who has been accused of antisemitism herself, said during a live stream she hosted on X called “Antisemitism and the Fight for Democracy,” that the spike in antisemitism since Palestinian terrorists attacked Israel on Oct. 7 killing 1,200 people and kidnapping 250 others, has “undermined” the progressive movement.
“At the same time, it is also true that accusations and false accusations of antisemitism are wielded against people of color and women of color by bad-faith political actors.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez struggled to rein in the growing antisemitic movement among progressives. During a live stream called “Antisemitism and the Fight for Democracy” she went out of her way to say that criticizing Israel and Zionism (the belief that Jews belong in the Middle East) is not “inherently antisemitic.”
She clearly said this to try to win over progressives, showing them that she, too, hates Israel. To her credit, she condemned antisemitism after saying this, saying it is “an assault on our values as Americans.”
Then, to win back brownie points from angry progressives again, she said that people of color are being wrongly accused of antisemitism. In what sounds like a defense of antisemites, AOC appeared to say that conservatives are making “false accusations” of antisemitism against minorities and “women of color.”
Who might she be referring to? Her allies in the “squad” who are openly spreading antisemitic views—and support anti-Israel groups with ties to terror networks?
We have yet to see any Republican single out people of color to call them antisemitic. Instead, we’ve seen many progressive Americans spread hateful rhetoric against Jewish people—putting Jewish Americans at risk.
AOC says antisemitism is on the rise, but progressive people of color are being falsely accused. Well, AOC, it isn’t conservative white people spreading antisemitism on college campuses. It seems like Alex is talking out of both sides of her mouth, as usual.
Key Takeaways:
- AOC claimed “false accusations” of antisemitism are being made against “people of color.”
- This comes as progressive Americans become increasingly hostile to Israel.
- Progressives on college campuses have spread antisemitic rhetoric and have targeted Jewish students.
