Joe Biden spent months of this year’s election cycle hiding in his basement. Not what a Presidential candidate normally does to win.
Only recently has he appeared to venture out for very limited events.
But it looks like he’s engaging “Basement Strategy 2.0.” Because he just delayed the all-important announcement of his running mate:
Joe Biden’s choice of running mate has been the subject of massive speculation over the last week. But even though the presumptive Democratic nominee said he would announce his vice presidential pick in the first week of August, it now appears we’ll have to wait a bit longer.
That is bad enough as it is (for him). But now, rumors are circulating that the Democratic candidate might skip out on debating Trump:
Joe Lockhart, the former White House press secretary, penned an op-ed last week urging Joe Biden to skip debating President Trump prior to the November election…
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, responded to the op-ed on Sunday, “Basement strategy, part 2.”
Joe Biden had promised to announce his running mate in the first week of August. This came about after rumors came from the press that he was going to select Kamala Harris.
Now, his campaign might push back the announcement to August 10.
Joe Lockhart of the New York Times is now suggesting Biden should cancel his three debates with Trump.
The Democrat writer claims Trump makes “20,000 misleading or false statements.” So, Joe shouldn’t debate him, because Trump lies?
Isn’t that the point of a debate to disprove what your opponent says?
It appears Democrats don’t think Joe has what it takes to go head-to-head with Donald Trump.
The president is known for trademark energy and wit. He humiliated Hillary Clinton in 2016 with his showmanship-like debates.
Already people worry about Joe Biden’s general tired appearance, confused comments, and flare-ups of anger. What would happen if he was forced to debate Donald Trump for hours on end?
It seems like his latest strategy is to hide as much as possible, letting the media prop him up. How can anyone believe polls that say Joe Biden is leading, when he refuses to hold rallies, give long interviews, or connect with voters?
Rumors have recently surfaced that the DNC is trying to remove Biden, even now, from being the nominee. Those stories have yet to be confirmed, but if they are even remotely true, it might explain the campaign’s recent ducking.
- Biden delayed announcing his running mate yet again.
- Some Democrats are urging him not to debate Trump.
- Conservatives are calling Biden’s campaign the “basement strategy,” as he is hiding from the public.
