Biden’s Cabinet Pick Finances Slip Out – She Earned Over $730K In Just 2 Years While Claiming To Run A Liberal “Non-Profit”

Joe Biden is still in the process of selecting his Cabinet, but he’s already settled several of the more prestigious posts. This includes the new head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

It’ll be Neera Tanden, a longtime Democrat who worked on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns. She also helped draft the Affordable Care Act legislation under Barack Obama.

For those reasons alone, she likely won’t be popular with Republicans and Conservatives.

But there are a few other things that might annoy some citizens: first, Tanden heads up a liberal nonprofit organization called the Center for American Progress.

This group has been a self-proclaimed “central hub of the Trump resistance” for years, which means they’ve essentially been battling the current administration’s policies for a while.

Then there’s Tanden’s salary as the leader of this nonprofit group, which is definitely turning heads.

From Fox News:

Neera Tanden, Biden’s nominee to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), disclosed earning $731,528 from the Center for American Progress (CAP) for the last two years, along with thousands in investments and speaking fees, according to the documents. That amounts to about $365,000 a year.

As a frame of reference, Salary.com shows the average salary for a CEO of a nonprofit ranges from $130,425 to $222,326.

This means Tanden is well above that range, though the site also notes that the salary varies “according to the organization’s expenses.” A 2019 report says the CAP had a $49.7 million budget.

It doesn’t end there for Biden’s latest pick, however.

Tanden also reportedly deleted over 1,000 posts on Twitter because they were especially critical of Republican Senators. And Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) has called her out for her radical liberal ideas.

Toss in the $700K+ she made in just two years working for a “nonprofit,” and it’s no surprise that many aren’t too pleased with Biden’s pick.

Trump supporters especially won’t like it, simply given the CAP’s dedication to going against the Trump administration at most every turn.

Biden’s Cabinet also contains plenty of members from big tech corporations, which is another reason his selections are coming under heavy scrutiny. Big Tech is definitely under the microscope right now.

As for Tanden, it’s very possible that her finances – and her past with Clinton and Obama – will continue to be questioned.

Key Takeaways:

  • Joe Biden’s pick to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is Neera Tanden. Her finances and political past have since come under scrutiny.
  • Her nonprofit group considers itself a “central hub of the Trump resistance.” And Tanden earned a lot more in 2 years than the typical CEO of a nonprofit.
  • Tanden also deleted over 1,000 Tweets that slammed Republican politicians.
