What’s Happening:
Americans tend to have a hard time understanding Joe Biden. Quite often, we have to figure out if he’s losing his mind–or blatantly lying to us. And we’re not sure which is worse! Many times he says things that force his own administration to backtrack or correct.
His most recent whopper is having the fact-checkers run around like Chicken Little. He clearly tried to defend his failed energy policy–which has been hurting millions of Americans. But what he said isn’t even remotely accurate.
From Daily Caller:
“The most common price of gas in America is $3.39, down from over $5 when I took office,” Biden said while speaking on Micron’s plan to invest in CHIPS Manufacturing in Syracuse, New York.
The national average price of gas was $2.39 on Jan. 23, 2021, days after Biden took office, according to data from GasBuddy.
The national average price of gas did not reach $5 until June 2022 under the Biden administration, and it remained under $3 for the entirety of the Trump administration, according to GasBuddy.
Um… what is going on? We know Joe Biden has a pretty poor relationship with the truth. Long before he was “president,” Biden was caught out making things up. Back in the 80s, he was forced to drop out of the presidential race for plagiarizing famous speeches.
Since then, he likes to just say things–expecting them to be true. That’s only gotten worse these days when he often confuses basic facts, dates, and names. But, in this instance, Biden can’t blame the dementia.
There is no reason for Biden to think gas prices were $5/gallon back in January 2021. The national average was shockingly affordable at $2.38/gallon. Gas didn’t hit $5/gallon until June 2022, over a year into Biden’s administration.
Biden really seems to think he can weasel out of his responsibility for the gas crisis. It was Biden who signed orders banning drilling for oil on federal land. It was Biden who restricted ANWAR and created heavy regulations, increasing the cost of oil production.
And it is Biden who goes to foreign countries to beg for oil, only to get laughed at.
I think it’s safe to say Biden is once again making stuff up, expecting all of us to just believe him. Biden seems to think he can avoid all those silly facts and data. He says whatever he wants and you better believe him.
If a reporter dares challenge him, even a liberal reporter, he treats them like the scum of the earth. Is this really the way a president should be acting? Democrats constantly attacked Trump, taking most of his comments out of context and distorting them. But he never made stuff up and demanded we believe him.
So, why are so many of them letting old Joe off the hook?
Key Takeaways:
- Joe Biden falsely claimed gas prices were $5/gallon when he took office.
- Gas prices were $2.38/gallon–the national average–the day he entered the White House.
- Gas prices didn’t reach $5/gallon until a year into Biden’s administration, thanks to his policies.
