In recent years, we’ve learned about the exploding problems in blue cities. Some of America’s largest cities have become ground zero for major crises. Some of these problems include widespread homelessness, drug addiction, and poverty. Perhaps worst of all is a crime epidemic that is ending lives and driving residents out of cities.

One particular city is notorious for violent crime. Despite an endless parade of Democrat mayors, the problem has only gotten worse.

The previous mayor did nothing about the problem but came up with excuses. That outraged voters enough to get rid of her… replacing her with yet another Democrat. Well, over the weekend, over 100 people were shot during the holiday. The mayor was forced to address this terrible record. What did he do? He… made more excuses.

Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson evoked an unexpected name Monday while discussing the reason behind a spate of gun violence over the weekend — former President Richard Nixon.

Police said Monday that over 100 people had been shot — 19 fatally, including one police officer — over the July 4th holiday weekend across Chicago. Johnson hosted a press conference on Monday to address the incidents and more broadly Chicago’s problems with violence and crime, and appeared to claim that the reason the city is suffering from gun violence was because Nixon won in 1968 after then-President Lyndon B. Johnson decided not to seek reelection…

“We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes. And people mocked President Johnson, and we ended up with Richard Nixon.”

Wow, Democrats aren’t sending their best to public office anymore. Mayor Johnson of Chicago was forced to discuss the horrendous number of residents shot over the July 4^th weekend. He hemmed and hawed about how terrible it was. But instead of coming up with solutions, he blamed someone else.

Who did he blame? A man who was president before many of us were even born. Johnson claimed the “root” of Chicago’s violent crime could have been fixed sixty years ago. But became “people mocked” LBJ, Richard Nixon was elected. And, apparently, Nixon is to blame for the many people hurt on Mayor Johnson’s watch.

What the heck? Nixon rose to power because crime was so bad in the late 60s and 70s. And Nixon actually addressed that problem. LBJ was “mocked” over his terrible handling of Vietnam and was forced to not run for a second term over that. How any of that is related to Democrats’ failures to protect residents in blue cities today is beyond me.

But it’s typical of Democrats. They love to take credit when things are going well. But when problems arise, it’s always a Republican’s fault. Even a Republican who has been dead for years!
