It’s called “Newspeak,” and you may soon be guilty of a serious crime. Freedom of speech has never been under more assault than right now in the United States.

Every sector of the country is facing calls to ban or criminalize free speech that doesn’t bow to the “accepted” thinking ordered by the government. This style of government was exposed decades ago in the book, 1984. Every patriotic American should own a copy and have sections underlined.

What the book exposed as “Newspeak” – creating alternate facts by changing definitions– is now a reality in aspects of local, state, and federal government entities throughout the United States. Americans face a tyrannical world where one day your free speech is protected by the Constitution and the next, you’re hauled off to jail for opening your mouth.

A recently introduced bill in the state of Illinois would change the definition of “abused child” to include minors whose parents object to their children receiving puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, transgender surgeries, and abortions.

House Bill 4876 empowers the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to step in and, if they deem it necessary, remove children from their biological parents based on the new definition of an “abused child.”

This is serious for parents because DCFS has the power to rip apart families and send parents to jail. Illinois law already classifies child abuse — depending upon the nature and severity of the abuse — as a criminal offense. Penalties range from a misdemeanor that carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison and a $2,500 fine to a felony that can carry up to $25,000 in fines and 15 years behind bars.

Speak what the Illinois government dictates or lose your children and go straight to jail. How far and wide will such laws spread throughout the country with woke ideology already cemented into local governments, schools, and medical establishments?

The new law, introduced earlier this month, also shields doctors from liability if they prescribe puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, transgender surgeries, and abortions as treatments to minors who do not have parental consent. Doctors only have to “make a reasonable effort” to make sure the minor understands the “risks and benefits” of prescribed treatment.

Doctors under the law will be exempt from any civil or criminal liability for their actions related to minors. They will be protected by the law and can circumvent parents’ rights while objecting parents will be considered abusers.

George Orwell, author of 1984, warned that his fictional take on tyrannical governments would become a reality. Parents need to be aware, and voters need to take action to stop the spread of this very real dystopian-like power.
