Trump Case Update Rocks Washington – DA Bragg Backpedals, Then Accuses Republicans of Interfering

What’s Happening:

We’re not sure what Democrats had planned, but all hell broke loose against them when Trump posted a message last weekend. The former president sounded the alarm, saying a leaked document revealed New York’s leftist DA was going to indict him over the now-forgotten Stormy Daniels story.

House Republicans quickly jumped into action, demanding answers from DA Bragg. They accused the DA of pursuing “political vengeance” and ordered him to hand over documents related to this case. Bragg pushed back the supposed date of Trump’s arrest, from Tuesday to Wednesday. Then to Thursday. Then, delaying it another week.

And now, he is scrambling to save his own skin.

From The Post Millennial:

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg released a letter on Thursday pushing back against Rep. Jim Jordan and the Judiciary Committee for what he sees as unreasonable interference into his investigation into former president Donald Trump…

Bragg’s office said that the GOP’s letter “only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day, and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene. Neither fact is a legitimate basis for congressional inquiry.” It is unclear if Jordan, or the House GOP, were contacted by Trump’s attorneys.

Oh, interesting. Bragg sent a letter back to Rep. Jim Jordan and House Republicans. In it, he refused to hand over anything to the House of Representatives. But then, he seems to state that the story of Trump being arrested was a “false expectation”–despite the fact that he had the grand jury scheduled to meet on that day.

It seems Bragg is back peddling faster than a fat kid riding down a hill. He was caught trying to pull a fast one on Trump and the country, but was caught. News reached the public that most of the DA’s office was against the arrest; only radical leftists at the top were pushing it.

Bragg’s sudden delaying of the grand jury meeting suggested he did not have adequate evidence to get a warrant on Trump. Now, he is panicking because ranking House members were demanding information. His response appears to say that he never intended to arrest Trump.

That could be true. Or, it is possible he is now covering his tracks. His case against Trump might be falling apart, so he is saying he never intended to arrest him this week.

Maybe, maybe not. But what we do know is that Democrats shot themselves in the foot with yet another failed attempt at taking Trump down.

When are they going to learn?

Key Takeaways:

  • DA Bragg appeared to admit he did not intend to arrest Trump this week.
  • The Democrat was exposed in a plot to indict Trump over the Stormy Daniels story.
  • After House Republicans demanded evidence from the case, Bragg claimed the arrest was a “false expectation.”
