CDC Issues Chilling Warning – Deadly Drug 100 Times More Potent Than Fentanyl Causes Overdoses To Spike

We are one month away from Joe Biden’s presidency mercifully coming to an end. Over the past four years, it’s often seemed like Biden has had too many failures to count.

One of Biden’s worst failures, however, has inarguably been border security. During Biden’s time in office, millions of illegal aliens have poured into this country thanks to his lax border policies.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, tons of deadly drugs have come into America across our borders as well. This has led to hundreds of thousands of Americans losing their lives to fentanyl overdoses over the past few years.

Now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is sounding the alarm on a drug that is far more deadly than fentanyl. Indeed, this may just go down as the biggest failure of Biden’s sham of a presidency.

From Fox News:
Last year, nearly 70% of all U.S. overdose deaths were attributed to illegally manufactured fentanyls (IMFs). One of those was carfentanil, an altered version of fentanyl that is said to be 100 times more potent, the CDC warned in a Dec. 5 alert.

Deaths from carfentanil rose by more than 700% in the past year, according to the same source — there were 29 deadly overdoses between January and June 2023, and 238 in that same time frame in 2024. This data came from the CDC’s State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS). The numbers could actually be higher, as the 2024 data is preliminary and not all overdose deaths have been reported, the agency noted.

Since an outbreak of carfentanil-linked deaths in 2016 and 2016, the drug had “largely disappeared” until this recent reemergence, the CDC noted. Based on the increase in fatal overdoses, the CDC is calling for “rigorous monitoring” of carfentanil and other opioids more potent than fentanyl.

Expert Weighs In

Dr. Chris Tuell, clinical director of addiction services at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, explained that “high profitability” is likely driving the prevalence of this deadly drug.

“Very small amounts can produce thousands of doses,” he said. “Synthetic opioids like carfentanil are relatively easy to manufacture in illicit labs.”

“Since the drug is a synthetic, it is easier to produce — unlike heroin, which is dependent on a plant like opium,” he continued.

Tuell went on to chillingly say that carfentanil is 100 times more potent than fentanyl. It’s also 10,000 times more potent than morphine.

“Even a small amount can be fatal, as it can cause respiratory failure,” he warned.

Like with fentanyl, carfentanil is often mixed in with other drugs. This leads to accidental overdoses from drug users who oftentimes have no idea that they’re ingesting these deadly substances.

“Carfentanil can also resemble cocaine and heroin, so it blends right in with the other drugs,” Tuell said. “Even a tiny amount can increase the potency of a drug mixture, leading to a stronger and longer-lasting high.”

Since so many deadly drugs are brought into the U.S. illegally across our borders, much of the blame for this can be placed on Biden’s shoulders. In the end, Biden leaving us to deal with a drug far more deadly than fentanyl on his way out the door only cements him as one of the worst presidents of all time.

Key Takeaways:

  • CDC warns of carfentanil, an altered version of fentanyl that is 100 times more potent.
  • Deaths from carfentanil rose by more than 700% in the past year.
  • Thanks to Biden’s lax border policies, these deadly drugs are easily brought into the U.S.
