In recent years, the radical left has waged war with our conservative justices. Some have even made threats, while they slandered these respected justices’ character.
But that couldn’t be further from the truth, among the justices themselves. In fact, one member of the liberal wing spoke about Justice Thomas. This is what she said.
From Just the News:
Sotomayor described Thomas as “a man who cares deeply about the court as an institution” and “about the people who work there.”
She said he is the justice with whom she disagrees “more than with any other justice,” but that, in contrast to the image generated by Thomas’s often harsh critics, he is “the one justice in the building that literally knows every employee’s name.”
[…] she said she believes the two justices remain friends because they “share a common understanding about people and kindness toward them.”
Wow. Americans can learn a thing or two from what Sotomayor said.
While speaking to a group of progressive lawyers, she had nothing but good things to say about conservative lion, Justice Clarence Thomas.
She said he was a man who “cares deeply” about the court. Sotomayor also said he is the “only” justice who knows “every employee’s name.”
Not only that, but she said he remembers “their families’ names and their histories.” She even recalled a time when her stepfather died.
Thomas was the first colleague to send her flowers.
It appears, unlike so many leftists in the country, Sotomayor can respect and appreciate a conservative.
She is able to cooperate with him, even though they disagree, because of a mutual respect and “common understanding.”
That used to be the expectation for all politicians and people in government. But Democrats continue to move farther to the left, burning bridges with Republicans as they go.
Figures like AOC, Pelosi, and Joe Biden refuse to cooperate and compromise. And their followers spew nothing but hate against anyone right of center.
Is it possible that America can return to the kind of respect and community that is shared by the justices on the court?
We can only hope.
- Justice Sotomayor praised Justice Thomas during a meeting.
- She celebrated Thomas’s commitment and character.
- Though ideologically separated, both justices are friends.
