The “protests” breaking out on college campuses across the country have clearly gotten out of hand. Hundreds have been arrested. Hate speech against Jews and America has gone on far too long as protesters defied the police.
But curiously, many on the Left have stood by these professional protesters and students. And Biden has remained pretty quiet on all of it, only once giving a short statement denouncing any violence and anti-Semitism, while at the same time denouncing Islamophobia.
Biden said he ran because of the riot in Charlottesville, but there is basically a Charlottesville happening on campuses every day on Joe’s watch. But many people think he is being pushed by members of the far-Left of his party, such as Ilhan Omar. Here’s what she had to say about the protests, and it’s landing her in hot water.
From Fox News:
“I actually met a lot of Jewish students who are in the encampment, and I think it is really unfortunate that people don’t care about the fact that all Jewish kids should be kept safe,” Omar told Fox 5 New York while there. “We should not have to tolerate antisemitism or bigotry for all Jewish students, whether they are pro-genocide or anti-genocide.”
So… in a way she’s standing up for safety for Jewish students. But on the other hand, she’s claiming that some of them may be pro-genocide.
Which is unbelievably ironic as Omar’s supporters chant “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” A call to eradicate all Jews from the Holy Land.
Meanwhile the Jewish students on campus may support their homeland, but Israel has been responding to an act of genocide of October 7th by fighting a war to end Hamas and has tried to prove to the world that it is carrying out that war in as humane a way as possible.
That is a very difficult mission as reports come out of Hamas leaders using Jewish and American hostages as human shields. The contrast is glaring.
Which is why the House is trying to take action against Omar:
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is being hit with a censure resolution on Tuesday after she referred to some Jewish students as “pro-genocide” during a recent visit to Columbia University.
Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb., is introducing the resolution against Omar on Tuesday, a source familiar with his plans told Fox News Digital.
Censure seems appropriate. But is it enough? When politicians twist the truth into complete fabrications for the sake of supporting terrorist organizations and winning votes, should they remain in office?
Hopefully Omar’s own constituents will be fed up with this type of language, but that is unlikely as her district is closely aligned with her views on the Middle East conflict.
Key Takeaways:
- Ilhan Omar seemed to accuse some Jews of being “pro-genocide.”
- Don Bacon plans to introduce a resolution to censure Omar to hold her accountable.
