It’s been months, but Americans still wait for Congress to provide additional COVID relief. And the parties just keeping passing the blame.
Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez actually blamed Mitch McConnell in the Senate. She said it’s his fault because he dismissed the Senate:
“People across the country are going hungry, COVID is set to explode, and Mitch McConnell dismissed the Senate last week,” Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted Monday. “I don’t know how these people can sleep at night. I really don’t.”
It seems AOC doesn’t realize people are “going hungry,” thanks to Democrats’ shutdown orders. But that’s okay because Ted Cruz put her in her place:
“Why is your party filibustering $500 billion in COVID relief?” the Texas Republican asked. “And Joe Biden is cheering them on. Thinking that blocking relief somehow helps Dems win Georgia.”
Ted Cruz exposed the fact that one than once, Democrats filibustered a vote on the scaled-back GOP relief proposal in the Senate.
AOC is so eager to criticize Republicans—who don’t want to spend trillions on leftist goals—but she refuses to admit when her own party is in the wrong.
Republicans had tried to work with Democrats on numerous occasions to craft a compromise. Again and again, Democrats just tried to force their own agenda through.
We’ve seen this from them for years. Whenever there is a chance for bipartisan progress, Democrats seem to shut it down.
They have been so determined to deprive Trump of success, they’d leave Americans hanging in the lurch.
Did AOC really think McConnell’s dismissal was really the cause of multiple months of delays? Or is she just refusing to admit COVID relief hasn’t happened because Democrats won’t get the job done?
- AOC blamed McConnell for delayed relief packages, over Senate dismissal.
- Ted Cruz fired back, saying Senate Democrats filibustered many times.
- Democrats have refused to compromise on a package to help Americans.
