On top of that, they’ll go after the Reedy Creek Improvement District, and the bill that restructured the district and several surrounding counties.
This builds upon an existing fight between Disney and the state, which has been ongoing for many months.
DeSantis’ office says Disney just keeps trying to maneuver for “special corporate benefits and dodge Florida law,” while Disney says the state is abusing its authority.
Other critics maintain that Disney’s “woke” agenda has put them in the Governor’s dog house.
It’s certainly true that Disney’s stock woes of 2022 might be attributed to a shift in focus and tone, which many parents are pushing back against.
But in this case, it’s a corporate vs. state battle, and DeSantis isn’t about to back down.
