Despite the White House claims, many Americans are hurting from a souring economy. Inflation has continued to drive up prices, with some experts claiming we are in a “slow” recession. Consumer spending is down while Americans are trying to save as much as possible.

A big factor in the current climate has been rising energy prices. Joe Biden’s “green” agenda has resulted in a lack of American-produced oil or natural gas.

Republican candidate for president, Ron DeSantis, has unveiled his energy plan. And he is making a big promise to the American people.

Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis unveiled his energy agenda during an event in Midland, Texas, on Wednesday, promising that his policies will bring back $2 gas and turn the United States into the world’s leading energy producer.

Republican Gov. DeSantis has seen success in his home state of Florida. While much of the country has struggled in the post-COVID era, Florida has seen its economy flourish. It appears the GOP candidate is vowing to bring this same success to the entire country–particularly in the area of energy.

DeSantis recently unveiled his plan to make America the world’s energy leader. Under President Trump, America was exporting more energy than any other country. DeSantis appears to want to bring that status back. At the same time, he claims he can get gas prices back down to $2 nationally.

His plan involves six core components. He intends to restore American energy production, focus on American car manufacturing, reform environmental permitting, emphasize fact-based policy, jump-start mineral development, and build the best grid in the world.

DeSantis specifically attacked Biden regulations that have brought American energy production to a standstill. Biden has canceled most leases for drilling on federal land. Only recently, he announced ending drilling on Native American reserves–something Native Americans have strongly opposed.

The Republican pointed the finger at Biden’s green policies for the current economic climate. He said Biden’s policies have “exacerbated the inflation” which is afflicting many American families. DeSantis vowed to restore “freedom to fuel” if elected president.
