The head of the FBI, Christopher Wray, spoke to Congress this week. He was appealing to lawmakers to increase his agency’s budget. With Republicans controlling the House, they are eager to slash bloated, government spending.
But Wray had a warning to Congress not to cut funding to the FBI, despite its recent, tarnished record.
The FBI has been behind attempts to hide Hunter Biden’s wrongdoings. They have even gone after some of President Biden’s political enemies, including Republican nominee for President Donald Trump. But Wray wanted Congress to forget all that, with this shocking claim.
From Fox News:
FBI Director Christopher Wray on Thursday will warn of an “elevated threat” to U.S. public safety and national security while advocating for an increased budget.“Looking back over my career in law enforcement, I’d be hard-pressed to think of a time where so many threats to our public safety and national security were so elevated all at once,” Wray will say to the House Appropriations subcommittee hearing on Thursday afternoon. “But that is the case as I sit here today. This is not a point when we can let up.”
Christopher Wray warned Congress that there is an “elevated threat” the Americans—and that this national security issue requires increased funding. Wray claimed that there are more threats to “public safety” than he’s seen over his entire career in law enforcement.
Wray stated that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas is a contributing factor. He cited the ISIS-K attack in Russia, which resulted in the deaths of 144 civilians. The FBI director seemed to suggest that dangerous figures would draw “twisted inspiration” from this to attack Americans.
Does not seem as if Wray gave examples of the “threats” the U.S. is facing. Most Americans certainly believe we are in danger, due to Biden’s shocking neglect of the Southern border. Wray had previously admitted that the border crisis has increased the threat level in the United States.
Despite this, Biden has been unwilling to secure the border. Wray also demanded that Congress reauthorize the FISA program—which both Republicans and Democrats ended up voting against.
Wray’s reputation as head of the FBI has been damaged, due to a list of scandals that have rocked the agency. Some Americans might question the agency, which seems more concerned with prosecuting a former president, than curtailing the massive crime epidemic hurting American cities.
Despite this, he wants more tax dollars to address unnamed threats.

- FBI Director Wray warned of an “elevated threat” in the United States.
