A move among liberal states seeks to count non-Americans in the official census.
The goal? So that these blue regions get more representatives in Congress.
Representatives are awarded based on the population… of American citizens.
But it appears Democrats want “undocumented” aliens to be counted as well, something that would give them more votes–and power–in government.
The president refused. So, Democrats do what they do best, sue:
A coalition of 35 U.S. states, cities and counties sued President Donald Trump on Friday over his directive not to count undocumented immigrants when apportioning seats for the House of Representatives, a move that critics have said is designed to help Republicans.
President Trump’s plan is to exclude millions of non-citizens from determining how many representatives will make up Congress.
Several states, including New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and New Jersey are suing to make undocumented aliens counted in the census.
Critics say that aliens who are not in the country legally should not be counted the same as citizens.
The left’s plan to protect this group is largely exposed in this lawsuit. They want to use this group, apparently not because they care about their well-being, but because it gives them more power in Washington.
Trump has taken a hard stance on immigration from the beginning of his presidency. He’s fought to secure the Southern border.
He has passed policy to limit how many newcomers enter the country a year, to protect American jobs.
It’s no surprise that he would enforce a rule to make sure only American citizens are counted in the census.
It appears unreasonable that non-voting, non-citizen residents should decide how many representatives are in Congress.
President Trump accused the left of eroding the rights of American citizens by putting undocumented aliens first.
