After four years of heavy sanctions against Iran, the United States might be reversing course.
The rogue nation was kept in check, thanks to President Trump’s hard stance. But Biden has recently signaled we might be going back to the days where America bowed to the whims of Iran.
The White House said they are open to working with Iran. That means Biden might sign off on a new nuclear deal—which would jeopardize the region.
So, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other experts had something to say about that.
From Fox News:
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and others slammed the Biden administration Thursday after the White House signaled it was ready to restart diplomacy with Tehran over a nuclear deal…
“The Ayatollah understands only strength. I led a response to the Iranian threat that protected the American people from its terror and supported the Jewish state of Israel,” Pompeo told the Washington Free Beacon. “Adopting the European Union model of accommodation … will guarantee Iran a path to a nuclear arsenal.”
Mike Pompeo criticized the Biden administration’s talk of lifting sanctions and negotiating a new deal.
He explained that the corrupt leaders of Iran know only strength. They were prevented from aggressive actions in the Middle East during the Trump administration, because of the strong sanctions against them.
Obama bent over backward for Iran. He even sent them $2 billion in cash. His horrendous “Iran Nuclear Deal” was panned by many experts on both sides of the aisle. Many believed it helped sped up Iran’s attempts at getting nukes.
The only thing that seems to hold them back is a strong response from the United States.
But Biden seems to want to lift sanctions and empower the terrorist-loving country. What would America get in return?
Why does Biden think it’s a good idea to negotiate with a country that is openly against us? Iran also promises to wipe our ally Israel off the map.
Until significant change comes to the leadership of Iran, it is unlikely they would stick to any agreement. Only tough actions from the U.S. can keep this enemy at bay.
How sad just a few weeks makes. For four years, we saw peace agreements flourish in the Middle East, as Arab nations become economic allies with Israel.
Now, thanks to Biden, all that might be for nothing, as Iran rushes toward nukes.
- Joe Biden’s White House signaled they want to negotiate with Iran, perhaps lift sanctions.
- Mike Pompeo and other experts slammed the notion, warning of what might happen.
- Pompeo explained Iran only understands strength and doesn’t want to negotiate.
