He also introduced eight articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. Impeaching a wartime cabinet secretary while troops are in theater isn’t principled dissent. It’s sabotage dressed up in a pocket Constitution. Massie’s libertarian fan club may applaud, but the rest of the party sees it for what it is – reckless self-promotion at everyone else’s expense.

Remember who stood firm

The constitutional tug-of-war between Congress and the White House over military authority predates every person reading this article. There’s room for honest debate – in peacetime. This isn’t peacetime. American forces are engaged, a nuclear-armed Iran is the alternative, and an election is bearing down fast.
