President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal continues to grow.
Just when it seems like authorities have uncovered all the classified papers, they manage to find even more. During the month of January, these restricted documents have been found in multiple locations.
And one Texas Republican thinks there are more — and he knows where to look.
Sen. Ted Cruz has been a vocal Biden critic almost since Day One, though he wasn’t always an ally of former President Donald Trump. And as this new scandal keeps breaking, Cruz is clearly concerned.
Classified documents were first found in Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center on November 2, then more were found in the garage on December 20.
After that, searchers found a document in Biden’s study on January 11, and five more were located just a day later. The unfortunate string of discoveries just keeps moving, and Sen. Cruz wants to see more.
Via The Daily Wire:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) called on the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI to search President Joe Biden’s Senate records that are stored at the University of Delaware to see if they contain more classified materials.
During an interview on “The Verdict,” Cruz revealed what he thinks “the next step in this scandal is going to be.”
The key is that these classified papers are being found in places they shouldn’t be, and everyone wants to know: how many more are there, and where might they be?
Said Cruz:
The next step in this scandal is going to be, okay, if Biden’s Senate documents include classified documents outside of classified settings — which is illegal — how many more classified documents are illegally in his Senate papers?
And here’s where this matters in particular, which is the University of Delaware has more than 1850 boxes of records from Joe Biden’s Senate tenure which he gave to the University of Delaware.
The GOP Senator further cited allegations of sexual harassment against Joe Biden and at the time, the media wanted to see the documents related to these accusations.
That never happened, though, and Cruz believes investigators could find them if they searched the University of Delaware.
The big stumbling block is that the university has already said they’ll never release these papers to anyone “until two years after Biden retires from public life.” Obviously, his critics want those documents now.
So, Cruz is calling on the DOJ and the FBI to go through all 1,850 boxes of Senate records to see if more classified docs can be found.
And if they do, this could turn into a much bigger problem for the President. Trump critics maintain that the discovery of classified material at Mar-a-Lago is worse, but things are getting dicey for Biden.
It could also have a negative impact on Biden’s re-election campaign in 2024, especially if his opponents continue to attack his mental fitness.
Key Takeaways:
- Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has called on the DOJ and FBI to search the University of Delaware for more classified documents.
- Cruz believes more evidence can be found in those 1,850 boxes of Senate records.
- The Senator also cited sexual harassment allegations against Biden, and the fact that those documents haven’t been revealed.
