Biden has promised to “finish the job” if given a second term. Many Americans take this to mean he’ll finish the job shutting down our economy, opening the border to criminals, and sending all our money to Ukraine.
Biden’s polling numbers have long been terrible. And many recent 2024 polls show that he might be beaten by Donald Trump. Yet, many Democrats refuse to admit that someone else should be running. Third-party candidates might rise up and shut down Joe’s chances. And now, one more House Democrat is calling for alternatives.
From Fox News:
Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., said anybody who wants to run to challenge President Biden for the 2024 Democratic primary nomination should “take the chance.” […]
“I would like to see a moderate governor, hopefully from the heartland, from one of the four states that Democrats will need,” he said.
Uh-oh. Democrat Dean Phillips claims he is “actively inviting” Democrats to run against Biden in the primaries. He said anyone who wants to challenge old Joe should “take the chance.” He even hit Biden over his age, saying that Joe needs to “pass the torch” to someone else.
Perhaps someone else who doesn’t show signs of cognitive decline?
Phillips isn’t the first D.C. Democrat who has expressed doubts about Biden’s viability. Biden has a very low approval rating. Many Americans blame him for a struggling economy, high inflation, and many other problems.
Meanwhile, the White House pretends like everything’s fine, refusing to cop to its failures.
It seems few Democrats are willing to confront Biden because they are convinced Trump can’t win. All the indictments and attacks against the former president apparently are giving Democrats a false sense of security.
It is uncommon for an incumbent president to lose a primary. But given Biden’s continued decline, it only makes sense for him to face challengers. What’s interesting is that Phillips mentioned Cornwell West, a third-party candidate. And he mentioned Joe Manchin, who has yet to announce a run.
But he did not mention Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is actively running against Biden. Perhaps if Democrats actually supported the democratic process, by supporting their own candidates, they’d have a chance?
- House Democrat Dean Phillips is urging Democrats to run against Joe Biden.
- He called on liberal politicians to “take a chance” at the primaries.
- This comes as Biden struggles with approval and election polling.
