It’s becoming increasingly harder for President Biden to ignore the border crisis. For three years, the administration has done little as millions flooded the country. Critics have even accused Biden of deliberately encouraging illegal immigration.

But the crisis has gone well beyond the breaking point, as liberal cities are now overwhelmed by tens of thousands of migrants.

Despite this, President Biden is only willing to do something—if a new spending bill is passed by Congress. He claims he needs more funding, although the bill also sends more billions to Ukraine. Biden suggests he can’t do anything without these tax dollars. But one reporter totally shut him down with the facts.

Biden’s National Security spokesman John Kirby spoke to the issue during a recent briefing, saying — as Biden has — that he is willing to use executive authority at the border, but that he needs the bipartisan bill to pass first…

“That is not true,” [Fox News reporter Bill] Melugin continued. “The same authority Biden used to reverse almost every Trump policy at the border — including terminating the national emergency declaration at the border upon taking office — can be used to make significant changes.”

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin contradicted the Biden administration’s claim that the president needs more funding to fix the border crisis. Both Biden and his National Security spokesman John Kirby said that Biden can’t do anything until Congress gives him more money.

Melugin responded by pointing out Biden has the same authority he used to reverse all of Trump’s policies at the border. Trump initiated numerous orders that halted the tide of illegal immigration. He ended catch-and-release, instituted Remain in Mexico, and several other measures to protect the country.

President Biden ended all of these, the moment he entered office. That was the biggest factor in the current, ongoing border crisis. Without those measures in place, millions of migrants were able to enter. On top of that, Biden’s DHS has ordered agents to process migrants and let them into the country, instead of deporting them.

Biden can re-instate Trump-era policies and require Border Agents to remove migrants over the border. All of this can be done without extra funding.

Critics will accuse Biden of trying to use the border crisis to get more money for his pet projects—including bankrolling the war in Ukraine. But it is unlikely Republicans are going to reward Biden with more money, to fix a problem he created.
