Hours after he dropped out of the presidential race last month, Joe Biden endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris, as his replacement. The Democratic Party quickly followed suit, immediately anointing Harris as the presumptive nominee.

This was all made official last Friday when the Democratic National Committee (DNC) officially nominated Harris. It happened without Democrat voters having any say whatsoever. Although the enthusiasm they have ginned up seems to have covered up that little detail.

And Democrats say that Republicans are the ones who pose a threat to democracy!

Unfortunately for the Democratic Party, however, this seems to already be coming back to bite them in a big way. A new poll shows that nearly one-third of Americans believe that the process through which Harris became the nominee was unfair.

The survey asked respondents, “Do you think the process by which Kamala Harris has become the expected Democratic presidential nominee has been…?” listing, “fair,” “unfair,” and “not sure” as the options.

Less than half across the board, 44 percent, believe the process has been “fair,” but about one-third, 32 percent, say it has been “unfair.” Another quarter of respondents, 24 percent, remain unsure.

Opinions vary on party lines. For example, most Republicans, 65 percent, believe the process of Harris’s coronation by Democrat elites has been “unfair” — a sentiment also held by 29 percent of independents but just four percent of Democrats. Just 37 percent of independents believe it has been a “fair” process, and 35 percent are unsure. Among Democrats, 83 percent believe the process has been fair, but 13 percent are unsure.

Nothing Democratic About This Process

It’s frankly surprising that these numbers aren’t even higher, given how unfair this process clearly was. Indeed, there was nothing democratic at all about how Harris secured this nomination.

Once again, Democrats have done the very thing that they accuse Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans of doing. They have spent years claiming that democracy is under attack from the right. Then, they completely abandoned democracy by never giving Democrat voters a say on who would replace Biden. Instead, Democrat elites picked Harris themselves and proceeded to force her down leftwing voters’ throats.

Had Republicans done anything like this, the mainstream media would have exploded with mass outrage over this attack on democracy. Since it was Democrats who did it, however, the media has fallen in line with their fellow leftists and solely focused on fawning over Harris.

So far, Democrat elites have managed to get away with this, but this poll shows that it may eventually backfire on them. In choosing Harris in the way that they did, Democrats silenced fourteen million liberal voters. Some of these voters will follow the orders of the Democrat elite and vote for Harris like they’re told to. Others, however, may not soon forget how unfair this process to nominate Harris really was.

Given how close this election is shaping up to be, Harris needs all the votes that she can get. If she even loses some Democrat voters who think the process to nominate her was unfair, it may just be enough to hand Donald Trump the victory.

And Democrats say that we’re the ones in a cult. This whole process to anoint Harris seems pretty cult-like to me!
