In the aftermath of the Hamas attack on Israel, numerous progressives have spoken out against the Jewish nation. Democrats in colleges and on Capitol Hill have seemingly blamed Israel for what terrorists did to their civilians.

One of those progressives is Rep. Rashida Tlaib: the firebrand Democrat has been hit with massive backlash over apparently dismissing the Hamas attacks and accusing Israel of being an apartheid state.

She has continued to spread the debunked claim that Israel attacked a hospital in Gaza. U.S. officials, along with Joe Biden, have confirmed the rocket was from Palestinian fighters. And now, a Republican member of Congress has decided to go after Tlaib.

Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene is calling for the House to censure Rashida Tlaib over her recent comments. MTG accused Tlaib of being an “Israel hating American hating woman.” The Republican claimed that Tlaib does not “represent anything America stands for.”

It is unclear what Democrats intend to do about Tlaib’s recent antics. Along with defending Hamas and slandering Israel, she was connected to a group of protesters who entered Congress’s Cannon Building without permission.

Democrat Sen. John Fetterman has criticized his fellow party members in the House for opposing Israel. Other Democrats in Congress have voiced strong support for Israel during this war, too, so it’s possible that other leftist lawmakers will join MTG to rebuke Tlaib’s behavior.

Tlaib stirred up even more controversy with comments she made against President Biden. The Democrat issued what sounded like a threat over Biden’s support for Israel during a recent rally; she claimed she would “not forget” how Biden backed Israel. She even accused Biden of committing “genocide.”

Tlaib appears to be rapidly eroding her support within her own party. If she continues pushing anti-Israel rhetoric, in light of what happened, she could face consequences worse than censure. While coming from a blue district, she might face a primary challenger who will remove her from office.
