Over the years, Nancy Pelosi has been accused of dishonesty and political maneuvering that undermined trust in her leadership. Case in point, what Pelosi has said about Joe Biden shows how out of touch she really is. It’s clear she is trying to prop up Biden, to help his replacement Kamala Harris. Pelosi helped kick out Joe and now wants us to think his vice president isn’t just as terrible as he was. But what she suggested for Biden is so laughably stupid, we are seriously wondering if it is time to break out the butterfly net.

She added, “He was in a good place to make whatever decision, top of his game. Such a consequential President of the United States., a Mount Rushmore kind of President of the United States.”

Stahl asked, “Are you are saying that he belongs up there on Mount Rushmore? Lincoln and Joe Biden?”

Pelosi said, “You got Teddy Roosevelt up there and he is wonderful. I don’t say take him down, but you could add Biden.”

Nancy Caught in Her Own Mischief

Rumors abound that Nancy Pelosi was leading the pressure campaign to oust Biden. When confronted about that, Pelosi scrambled to hide the truth. She went overboard to praise how “consequential” Biden’s presidency has been. Old Nance went as far as to say he should be on Mouth Rushmore. Obviously, we know this is a wild exaggeration to distract from the fact that she stabbed Biden in the back. But it underscores just how far she’d go to skew the truth for her political agenda.

At one point in time, Pelosi welded incredible power over the Democratic Party. She was the de facto leader of Democrats in Congress. She could coerce lawmakers into supporting bills that would undermine their chances at re-election. She could even intimidate the likes of Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden.

These days, she is watching her influence decline. She lost the House majority and gave up her role as party leader. Add to that embarrassing scandals involving her husband, it makes sense that she is getting pushed to the sidelines.

It seems that she tried to claw back some attention when Biden was being pressured to drop out of the race. She at first publicly endorsed Biden’s campaign. Then, it seemed rumors came out that she tried to get him to quit the campaign—and allegedly let those stories leak to the public.

Whether that was true or not is anybody’s guess. But now that Biden’s out, there is no clout to gain by saying she forced him out. The party has to pretend that Biden was a big success, to give Harris a chance. So now, Pelosi is gushing over how successful Biden was.

A Legacy of Failure

But Pelosi is much like Biden. She is an abject failure but refuses to admit it. Most of Biden’s time in office was marked by one failure after another, only for his staff to pretend like they were winning. Sounds a lot like what Nancy is doing now. She is so confident in Biden’s success (despite dismal approval numbers, inflation, war, and being forced to quit) that he should be on Mount Rushmore.

Okay, Nancy, we get it. You are a dyed-in-the-wool yes-woman for your party. Can you just retire already and leave us alone?
