This week, Donald Trump traveled to New York to address the DA’s largely panned indictment against him. Many legal experts have criticized the grounds on which Bragg is going after Trump. We’ve already seen how Republicans and independents are rallying around the former president, despite the left’s claims.
The mayor of New York, Eric Adams, was quick to prop up the left’s narrative against Trump and his supporters. He gave a speech scolding Trump supporters, suggesting that those who went to NYC in solidarity would spread violence. But then, he was slammed by his own admission.
From The Post Millennial:
On Monday, NYC Mayor Eric Adams delivered remarks ahead of former President Donald Trump’s arrival to respond to District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s recent indictment and the mayor told Trump supporters to “control yourselves” […]
“And although we have no specific threats,” Adams said. “People like Marjorie Taylor Gree, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, she stated she’s coming to town.”
Um… what was that last part again? New York Mayor Adams called Trump supporters “rabble rousers” and suggested they would travel to New York to spread violence. He is feeding into the debunked narrative that Trump supporters are “threats” to our country.
Yet while trying to slander Trump supporters, the man admits there are “no specific threats.” Oh, so you just assumed Trump supporters would be dangerous, with no evidence to back that claim?
To make matters worse, Adams said New York was “the safest large city in America.” Wow, talk about a whopper. In 2022, there were 433 murders in NYC. The year before, there were 488. That’s much higher than before Adams entered office when there were 318 murders.
Nobody in their right mind would call New York safe, these days. Thanks to radical leftists like Adams, police have been defunded and criminals lurk the streets. To say New York is safe is like saying vegans like hamburgers. Yet Adams is accusing Trump supporters of being the real threat.
How pathetic. Democrats have already seen their indictment scheme backfire. Support for Trump is growing as millions donate to his campaign. So, perhaps Adams is trying to pivot the narrative back to Trump supporters being “threats.”
But, once again, Democrats are foiled by their own dishonesty.
- NYC Mayor Adams threatened Trump supporters, suggesting they will cause trouble.
- He then admitted there were “no specific threats” contradicting his previous claim.
- This comes as Democrats indict Trump to stop him from winning the election.
