In the days since President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump, Democrats have gone into full panic mode.
They’ve realized they can no longer hide Biden’s cognitive failings from the American people. This comes after millions of Americans saw just how dire Biden’s mental state is during last Thursday’s debate.
Now, two new reports have come in that have Democrats panicking like never before. These reports show that the writing truly is on the wall for Biden and that he may not be able to recover from this.

The CBS News/YouGov survey found Trump is leading President Biden nationally with 50 percent of support among likely voters, compared to the incumbent’s 48 percent. It also found the former president narrowly edges out Biden in battleground states, garnering 51 percent of support compared to the president’s 48 percent.The presumptive GOP nominee’s support in battleground states has jumped up since the same question was asked last month. Biden had a slight lead over Trump in battleground states then, with 50 percent of support to Trump’s 49 percent. The battleground states included in the survey are Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

As if that weren’t enough to send Democrats into a tailspin, another report makes things even worse. In the wake of last week’s debate, nonpartisan election handicapper Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics has shifted two Midwestern states in favor of former President Trump.
Sabato’s Crystal Ball managing editor Kyle Kondik wrote in an analysis Wednesday that the election handicapper was moving the presidential horse race in Michigan from “leans Democratic” to “toss up,” while shifting Minnesota from “likely Democratic” to “leans Democratic.”
“One thing that has crystallized for us after the debate is that it may no longer make sense to give Biden the benefit of the doubt. Our working assumption has been that whatever the polls say now, this was shaping up to be another very close election,” Kondik wrote.
Both Michigan and Minnesota are considered must-win states for Biden. Minnesota, in particular, had been seen as a reliable win for the Democrat president. During the 2020 election, Biden won Minnesota by seven points. Meanwhile, he won Michigan by three points. The fact that he can no longer completely count on either state reiterates how terrible his debate performance was.
Various other reports have been circulating indicating that Biden may also be in trouble in other swing states. Rumors are swirling that behind the scenes, Democrats are eager for Biden to step down so that they can run someone else in his place.
At the time of this writing, however, only two House Democrats have publicly called on Biden to do so. These House Democrats are Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) and Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.).
Yet unfortunately for Democrats Biden seems intent on running. So far, he’s defiantly refused to drop out of the race. Also on Wednesday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that Biden is “absolutely not” dropping out of the race.
Judging by these latest polls, however, Biden remaining in this race might just spell doom for Democrats when it comes to maintaining control of the White House.
