Mitt Romney is hardly a beloved figure among Republicans, these days. He seemed to oppose Donald Trump, especially during the Democrats’ second impeachment trial against him.

The party appeared to turn on Romney. So much so, that he is not seeking another term in the Senate.

It is unknown what role he’ll play in the government, in the future. But perhaps he is warming up to Trump’s possible return to the White House. He recently discussed a major issue facing the country. And this MSM reporter was not expecting what he ended up saying.

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, argued Wednesday that former President Trump was far better than President Biden at handling the border crisis.

“People have been screaming about the border for all three and a half years Joe Biden has been president,” Romney argued during an exclusive MSNBC interview. “He’s not done anything to solve the problem of the border. That’s a huge issue for President Trump, I can’t understand why President Biden didn’t tackle this from the beginning.”…

“If I were President Biden, I’d be all over that, and instead he served it to President Trump on a silver platter.”

Romney blasted Joe Biden for failing to secure the Southern border. And he explained during an MSNBC interview that Trump did a much better job at keeping the border safe. Romney took special exception to the fact that Biden appeared to be ignoring people who were “screaming” at him to secure the border.

The border crisis has not been an issue establishment politicians seem to care about. Romney didn’t do much to address it while in office. And some Republicans even voted against Trump’s work to close the border while he was president.

Romney is defying the MSM narrative by even discussing the border. The press has ignored the issue, knowing it is a losing one for Biden. But Romney is shutting down old Joe by explaining he has done a terrible job keeping the border secure.

The crisis is an existential threat to the country. Over seven million migrants have illegally entered under Joe Biden. They are set to destroy the economy and erode American prosperity, as they compete for housing, jobs, and other resources.

Few D.C. politicians are talking about this. But it seems Romney, who is on his way out, is off the chain. He is not afraid to rattle Biden’s cage because he’ll be leaving soon.
