Manchin Just Made a Very Big Mistake – He Tried to Excuse Biden’s Top Failure

What’s Happening:

Early in Biden’s term, an unlikely ally emerged to aid Senate Republicans. West Virginia Democrat, Sen. Joe Manchin, allied with Republicans to oppose some of his party’s most extreme measures. He refused to remove the filibuster and opposed legislation that would have federalized elections.

It appeared that the moderate Democrat had much more in common with Republicans. Some pundits even speculated he might switch parties, to save his re-election chances in 2024. But it appeared the moderate flip-flopped just before the 2022 midterms, voting for Biden’s infamous “inflation” bill.

Since then, his re-election prospects have grown weaker, as a popular Republican is running against him. For a time, people thought he might run for president. But now, he is speaking in favor of Joe Biden–echoing a narrative long spread by leftist Democrats.

From Breitbart:
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) responded to a question on why people have a negative view of President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy by stating that “messaging is the biggest problem” and that Biden and Democratic majorities in Congress got many positive things done.

Sen. Manchin came out in support of Joe Biden’s economic policies, claiming the “biggest problem” is messaging. This is a claim pushed by numerous Democrats. The party–and the White House–are apparently ignoring the many reports of record inflation and economic decline.

Instead, they maintain the economy is “strong,” even as many Americans report a decline in salaries and economic stability. Reports indicate the housing market is contracting, along with the new and used car sales.

For Manchin to ignore data that suggests the economy under Joe Biden has struggled will come as a shock to many. For two years, Manchin has opposed the Biden administration and pushed against its spending plans.

Yet now, the West Virginia Democrat is apparently parroting the White House’s questionable claims. He went on to call January 6 an “insurrection.” He tried to take credit for an “energy bill,” as energy prices skyrocketed.

Manchin also tried to take credit for Biden’s CHIPS Act, despite reports that chip manufacturing has not boomed in the United States–even after massive funding from the government.

It appears Manchin ignored major crises that started under Biden’s watch, including the Afghanistan withdrawal, the reportedly 3 million migrants that have entered the country, the significant increase in crime in major cities, and the devastating Ukraine war that Joe Biden has been funding.

Key Takeaways:

  • Manchin appeared to defend Biden’s economic policy, blaming “messaging.”
  • Democrats and the White House have ignored signs of serious decline, claiming the “messaging” is the real problem.
  • Manchin previously opposed Biden’s socialist agenda, but now appears to be caving to the left wing.
