President Trump has spoken frequently about passing another relief package.
Republicans in Congress have crafted a bill that would protect jobs and provide a new round of checks.
The bill, though, requires cooperation from both Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill.
But when Democrats entered negotiations with Republicans, they immediately rejected it:
The $1 trillion coronavirus relief package unveiled Monday by the White House and Senate Republicans is being dismissed as a non-starter by Democrats, setting the stage for lengthy negotiations as various federal assistance programs are set to expire…
Democrats say the GOP legislation falls short of providing enough money for state and local governments, fails to protect renters from eviction and doesn’t invest enough in lower-income communities hit hard by the pandemic.
It appears Democrats are rejecting the Republican bill, in order to secure funding for their own causes.
They want the government to punish landlords and shell out more cash for Democrat-run cities.
Democrats want to secure funding for states that shut down their economies and punished American citizens.
But it appears they are more eager to simply shut down Republicans’ efforts to provide relief. Considering we are only a few months from an election, it’s easy to see why.
Over the last few months, Republican has developed numerous bills aimed at helping Americans. Democrats immediately shut them down, refusing to even negotiate.
In fact, they even shut down a bill that would have reformed police departments and saved lives.
Sen. Ted Cruz recently accused Pelosi of trying to funnel money to her friends.
Considering the year the country has gone through, it seems unthinkable that Democrats would stall progress just to protect their pet projects.
With Trump in the White House, it’s on Democrats to actually show cooperation for the good of the country.
Instead, they stall, play the blame game, and make excuses.
But can Americans survive all this political nonsense? Can the country truly recover, while Pelosi and Schumer refuse to do their jobs?
- A relief bill stalled in Congress when Democrats refused to support it.
- Democrats are demanding more funding for states and their pet causes.
- Ted Cruz accused Pelosi of trying to funnel money to her friends.
