Texas Makes Swift Move at the Southern Border – In Just Days, They Install Miles of “Triple-Strand” Barrier

The border crisis remains in full swing according to many officials and southern state leaders. There were over 2 million encounters in fiscal year 2022 and experts are predicting even more in 2023.

However, the Biden administration has been accused of doing little – or nothing – to stem the tide.

That’s why states like Texas have been forced to defend the border without federal assistance. And this includes erecting barriers of their own.

The Lone Star State has pledged to secure the porous border, and Governor Greg Abbott has empowered the Texas National Guard to help make it happen. They’re targeting the most vulnerable parts of the border, too.

For example, the City of El Paso was recently declared a disaster area as illegal migrants have been flooding the area for weeks.

So, the National Guard stepped up — and made their state a lot safer in just a 72-hour span.

In only 3 days, they managed to erect several miles of “triple-strand concertina barrier” to help secure the over-taxed border.

That video went up on Christmas day and quickly made the rounds, as Major General Ronald “Win” Burkett said:

They’re focused on deterrence, they’re focused on sending a message that unlawful crossings is not an option. You’ve got to go to the POE (Port of Entry).

The troops started work at 4 a.m. and didn’t stop until their job was completed a few days later. And the Texas Military Department told CNN that more is coming very soon.

Specifically, Texas wants to stop the flow of dangerous migrants such as cartel members, which continue to plague the U.S.

Earlier this month, Texas announced they would be working on a new barrier “built by Texans, for Texans,” and this appears to be part of that plan.

However, it’s going to be an uphill battle without the aid of the federal government. In just the past week, border agents released nearly 6,000 migrants to NGO’s in El Paso or onto the city’s streets.

Over 10,000 were released the week before. This simply isn’t sustainable, nor is it safe.

While Democrat leaders insist that the border crisis has been blown out of proportion, the numbers released by DHS appear to paint a very different picture.

And as 2023 kicks off, expect Republicans and millions of concerned citizens to keep this issue in the spotlight. Most contend that without a secure border, we just don’t have a secure country.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Texas National Guard erected several miles of “triple-strand concertina” barrier at the border.
  • They completed the job in just 3 days, and they say more barrier is on the way.
  • The City of El Paso was recently declared a disaster area, as over 16,000 migrants were released into the city in a 2-week span.
