It’s no secret that under the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris regime, the border crisis has gotten out of control. Indeed, millions of illegal aliens have flooded into this country over the past four years.

Much of the blame for this can be placed on Harris’ shoulders. Biden put her in charge of this crisis by making her his “border czar.” Instead of fixing the situation, however, Harris has only allowed it to get even worse on her watch.

Now, the great state of Texas is stepping up to take matters into its own hands when it comes to this border crisis. The Lone Star State has just acquired a 1,400-acre ranch along the Rio Grande in a key area that officials say has been plagued by human trafficking. It’s also been wrought with weapons and drug smuggling.

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has acquired the ranch in Starr County, in Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Sector, which saw some of the highest levels of migrant traffic. The state will now use that land to build additional border wall.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced in 2021 funding for a state project to continue construction of a wall after the Biden administration abruptly ended the Trump-era project. Abbott has also built a floating buoy barrier in the Rio Grande. His administration has linked the barriers, and a broader effort by the state, to a drop in apprehensions.

Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham told Fox News Digital that the Texas Facilities Commission, responsible for building the wall, requested the property. It now means that the GLO owns two pieces of land on the border in Starr Country encompassing more than 4,000 acres.

‘Human Trafficking’ And ‘Rape Trees’

Buckingham explained that there has been “a massive amount of human traffic” on the property.” She added that the property includes many “rape trees,” where migrants display clothing as trophies after abuse.

“It’s at an area of great impact, it’s in an area where we see lots of people coming across all of the time, not only seeing the people coming across, but seeing those women and children who are abused and victimized,” she said. “We’re seeing drugs…we’re seeing weapons. We’re seeing all kinds of things coming across this particular part of the border.”

The presidential race between Harris and Donald Trump is closer than ever. Though Harris has promised to bring about “change” as president, she’s had four years to make any change that she wants at the border. That’s why Texas likely feels that it can’t take any chances right now. It’s clear that a Harris presidency means that the border crisis will likely get even worse.

Should Trump come out victorious, however, he’s promised to crack down on the border crisis from day one of his presidency. Unlike Harris, whose border promises are empty, Trump’s border pledges can actually be believed based on what he accomplished in his first term.

In the end, we applaud Texas for taking action when it comes to the border crisis. Harris could learn quite a lot from what the Lone Star State is doing!
