As some states turn schools into far-left, atheistic nightmares, Texas is going in the opposite direction.
It is not willing to turn its back on our national heritage. And now, a new law is going into effect this school year that will celebrate an iconic and national motto.
Texas schools have started receiving posters of the national motto “In God We Trust” that they will be required to display in accordance with a new state law…
The law, which was passed last year, says elementary and secondary schools must “display in a conspicuous place in each building of the school or institution a durable poster or framed copy of the United States national motto” if the signs were donated to the school district or bought with private donations and given to the district.
Woah, this is going to tick off liberals! Our nation’s motto is “In God We Trust.”
You’ll see that in court houses, numerous government buildings, and on every dollar in your wallet.
Yet, leftists have fought to erase our national identity where it is needed the most, our public schools.
But a new law from Texas goes into effect this new school year. Schools will have to prominently display posters with “In God We Trust” that are donated to the institutions.
This is a stroke of brilliance, of course. The schools aren’t using public funds to buy these pictures.
But if they are donated by private citizens, they have to display them.
Democrats are already complaining, saying this is a “more casual way” the state will “impose religion on the public.”
Religion? This is our national motto. There is nothing overtly religious about saying the word “God.”
Texas isn’t forcing students to pray, follow a particular religion, or demand they read a religious text.
They are simply displaying a motto that has been part of our country for over 200 years. How is that bad?
It seems more likely that leftists are all too eager to eradicate every trace of our nation’s history and traditions.
Be it accurate knowledge of our Founding Fathers to a simple motto that mentions “God.”
- Texas schools will be required to hang up posters with “In God We Trust.”
- The national motto can be shown if donated by citizens.
- Democrats complained, claiming this imposes religion on the public.
