In the days since Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was named by Vice President Kamala Harris as her running mate, the mainstream media has been shamelessly fawning over him like it’s their job. Reports about his many failings as governor have been swept under the rug so that the media can worship him just as they do Harris, despite her being one of the least popular vice presidents of all time.

Walz has been met with such little pushback from the press that it has undoubtedly come as a huge shock to him that a major voting group is now speaking out to demand that he step down immediately. This large group has gone so far as to dub Walz as their “enemy” based on his alleged past racism.

The Italian American Civil Rights is demanding that Walz resign as Harris’ running mate at once. They argue that he has no business being in the race because of his history of racism towards Italian Americans.

IACRL board member Mike Crispi, a Trump delegate, published a letter from the group on X accusing Walz of racism and calling him an “enemy of the Italian American Community,” largely over his handling of the riots surrounding the death of George Floyd. During the 2020 unrest, protesters tore down a statue of explorer Christopher Columbus, which led to criticism against Walz and his lieutenant governor.

“Tim Walz did nothing to stop radical vandals from targeting the most prominent symbol of Italian-American culture in a flagrant hate crime,” Crispi said. “He knew they were coming and he did nothing to protect the statue.”

“His record as Governor in Minnesota is the most disgraceful record of any governor in the last decade,” he continued. “From allowing rioters to pillage and plunder to standing-down when the mob came for the Columbus statue, Walz allowed the North Star State to become an exemplar of cultural Marxism run amok.”

Crispi then accused Walz and his “cronies” of colluding with “anti-Italian American sympathizers” to keep the statue down.

The Left Is Trying To Cancel Christopher Columbus

For centuries, Christopher Columbus has been hailed as the hero who discovered America way back in 1492. Over hundreds of years, he’s become a symbol of Italian American pride. Those who have this heritage have long been proud that one of their own discovered this great nation.

In recent years, however, the woke left has been trying to cancel Columbus. They’re now out to falsely portray him as a symbol of racism. They’ve argued that Columbus was evil because of the violence and disease that he brought to the Native Americans who already resided here at the time of his arrival.

The left has even launched a campaign to replace Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Unfortunately, this effort has been successful in many states.

It should come as no surprise that the super woke Walz has eagerly hopped on this bandwagon.

After Walz was selected as Harris’s running mate, his response to the 2020 Floyd riots came back under scrutiny. After protesters tore down a Columbus statue, he said in a press conference that “there would be consequences” but that their frustrations were legitimate and that he sympathized with them.

Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan took the stage after and the temperature was raised.

“I’m not going to perform for folks. I’m not going to feign sadness,” she said, adding that “there is no honor in the legacy of Christopher Columbus.”

This just goes to show that it’s liberals who are the real racists, not conservatives. Democrats are so obsessed with race that they’ve become the very thing that they claim to be fighting against. Woke liberals like Walz are trying so hard to be sensitive to Native Americans that they’ve become racist towards Italian Americans.

While it’s unlikely that this will actually go anywhere, we applaud the IACRL for calling Walz out. As this election continues, he needs to be held accountable for his alleged racism, just as any Republican in his position would be.
