Trump Chooses Longtime Ally Kelly Loeffler As His SBA Administrator
Trump Chooses Longtime Ally Kelly Loeffler As His SBA Administrator

We’re now one month away from Donald Trump moving back into the White House. He earned this honor by demolishing Kamala Harris on Election Day in both the Electoral College and the popular vote.

In the weeks since then, Trump has been busily putting his administration together. He’s already made some great picks, choosing people who will help him in his quest to make America great again.

On Wednesday, Trump announced that former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler is his nominee to lead his Small Business Administration. This was one of the last agencies without a head nominated by the president-elect.

From The Washington Examiner:
“Small Businesses are the backbone of our Great Economy,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Wednesday. “Kelly will bring her experience in business and Washington to reduce red tape, and unleash opportunity for our Small Businesses to grow, innovate, and thrive. She will focus on ensuring that SBA is accountable to Taxpayers by cracking down on waste, fraud, and regulatory overreach.”

“Kelly was a tremendous fighter in the U.S. Senate during the first Trump Administration, including helping to pass the first ever bill to protect Women in Sports,” Trump added in his statement. “Prior to her tenure in the U.S. Senate, Kelly built a 25 year career in financial services and technology. Along with her amazing husband, Jeff, she helped build a Fortune 500 company from 100 employees to over 10,000, as Executive VP. She and Jeff also helped me secure the Big Election Win in Georgia!”

Loeffler’s History

Back in 2021, Loeffler lost in a special election to Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) after she was appointed to Georgia’s Senate seat by Gov. Brian Kemp. In the years since then, Loeffler has been one of Trump’s top donors. Indeed, she has donated millions to his successful reelection campaign.

It was expected that Loeffler would get a role in the new Trump administration. She has served as the co-chairwoman of the president-elect’s second inauguration committee.

During Trump’s first presidency, he appointed Linda McMahon to lead the SBA. She kept a low profile in Trump’s administration and was seen as a loyal foot soldier to the president. Heading into his second term, Trump has tapped McMahon as his Education secretary.

Meanwhile, also on Wednesday, Trump tapped Missouri Rep. Billy Long (R) to serve as commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

“Billy brings 32 years of experience running his own businesses in Real Estate and, as one of the premier Auctioneers in the Country,” Trump said. “He then served 12 years in Congress, because he ‘felt it was important for his constituents to have a Representative who has signed the front of a check’!”

“Taxpayers and the wonderful employees of the IRS will love having Billy at the helm. He is the consummate ‘people person,’ well respected on both sides of the aisle. Congratulations Billy!” he continued.

Loeffler and Long are both perfect picks for these respective roles. In the end, we can’t wait to see them help Trump make America great again!
