As the gap between Republican and Democrat increases, the moderates find themselves in a difficult spot.
To many, it feels as if the increasing polarity is pulling everyone farther apart. And some argue Democrats have gotten far too extreme.
One of their most controversial leaders agrees with that — which is why she’s leaving.
Tulsi Gabbard has been one of the more moderate leftists in the Party in recent years, which has left her at odds with her liberal colleagues.
She’s been a critic of the Biden administration and has frequently called out Democrats for going way too far with their ideology.
Now, she’s had enough: Gabbard is leaving the Democrat Party.
After coming under heavy fire from leftists, Gabbard has decided that she’s had enough with the “elitist cabal of warmongers.”
She posted a scathing 30-minute video on Twitter, where she ripped into Democrats:
I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, are… pic.twitter.com/oAuTnxZldf

The now-former Democrat trashes the left for being “driven by cowardly wokeness” and “radicalizing every issue & stoking anti-white racism.”
She also asked other “independent-minded” Democrats to follow her lead.
Gabbard believes some should ditch the Party because Democrats don’t believe in a government “that is of the people.” This is a common lament of moderates these days.
Her announcement kicked off “The Tulsi Gabbard Show,” a new podcast:
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich called her an “independent maverick” and that her leaving is a sign of a “drift” away from the Party.
Gabbard is arguably the highest-profile Democrat to abandon her party, and it could spark others to follow.
If it does, it could signal a cracking of the Democrat foundation, and Republicans might directly benefit before the midterm elections.
Key Takeaways:
- Moderate Democrat Tulsi Gabbard announced she’s leaving the Party.
- She called out the “elitist warmongers” and smashed leftists for “radicalizing every issue” with wokeness.
- Gabbard called on “independent-minded” Democrats to follow her lead.
