Columbia University’s first day of the term was Tuesday. Unfortunately for the New York City Ivy League institution, however, new protests soon caused the school to descend into chaos.
Last term, Columbia saw some of the largest and most intense protests in America as students demonstrated against Israel’s military operation in Gaza. School officials were hoping a new leaf would be turned over for this term; however, they got a rude awakening on Tuesday.
These protests, which are happening at woke colleges all over the country, could spell bad news for Kamala Harris. She may not be directly involved in the protests at Columbia. However, the crazed demonstrations serve as a reminder to voters of her radical position on Israel.

Pro-Palestinian protesters – many of their faces covered in traditional keffiyeh scarves – could be heard several blocks from the site of the demonstration on Tuesday morning. They chanted “Free Palestine” as they banged on drums and marched in circles outside Columbia University’s famous iron gates.On the other side of metal barricades, students and staff watched the demonstration as they queued up to have their identification thoroughly checked before they could enter campus.
Inside, the biggest disruption occurred around noon on Tuesday, according to CBS News, the BBC’s US partner. The Alma Mater statue outside Low Memorial Library was doused with red paint – allegedly by protesters. The area was reportedly blocked off, as a crew worked to clean the statue.

This is nothing new for Columbia, which has become as woke as can be in recent years. At the end of the last term, police raided a pro-Palestinian encampment that had taken over the Columbia campus quad. One hundred people were arrested after students occupied an academic building. Things got so bad that Columbia was forced to cancel its main graduation.
On Tuesday, the pro-Palestinian protesters made it clear that they have no intention of letting up this term.
“We ask that you put aside your excitement for a new school year and remember the Palestinians who died by our very dollars,” read one flier that the protesters handed out.
Since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris has been trying to portray herself as a moderate. The reality is that she has long been a radical liberal who harbors many disturbing views. Indeed, she would likely be demonstrating right alongside these pro-Palestinian protesters if she were at Columbia today.
In watching what’s happening at Columbia, voters can get a glimpse of what will potentially be tolerated all over America if Harris takes office. She has shown little support for the people of Israel, instead reserving much of her sympathy for Hamas. Harris may be hiding her radical tendencies now, but once she takes office, they’ll undoubtedly be put on full display once again. With her as president, Americans everywhere will then suffer because of them.
